i currently live in japan, but most probably i will be going back to london in may, and most defintely buy the A bike, i made up my mind finally.
so it would be great to have the A bike gathering.

i rode it for a few seconds at the selfridges store in london, since i am not very tall and not that heavy to be precise i am 1.66 cm and 62 kilos, so probably because of that, it just fits me perfectly, i hope i wont grown any taller and gain weight lol!!!

Although I'm just 5'8" tall, I found that the saddle is just fit my height when I set it to the highest position that I needn't bend my knees too much when I'm pedalling. The riding position makes me easy to climb up a relatively steep slope, too.

I know that different riders may have extremely different riding experiences on the A-bike. I hope that the experiences can help the design team of the A-bike to improve their next generation products.

Hi,

I received my A-Bike last Friday and having had only limited use out of it so far my first real ooportunity to put it to the test came this morning. I had to drop my car off for repairs about 4 miles from my home (someone drove in to the back of the car). The guy who runs the repair yard was less than convinced when I pulled the bike out the back of the car and admitted he had never even heard of the A-Bike. The route home involved a few minor climbs and descents, plus a large and busy roundabout. I decided to walk round the roundabout rather than tackle it - it's the roundabout where my car got hit! It's funny that the saddle gives me no cause for concern at all - despite the comments of many others. My biggest concern is how far back can I sit without the front of the bike lifting. I am 6' tall and 13 stone and when I ride my other bikes I tend to stretch my legs out and sit right back in to the saddle. I don't have the confidence to ride this way on the A-Bike. I still don't feel totally confident in the steering either as the small wheel makes it very twitchy. I must also confess to having fallen off the bike this morning. This is more embarassing than dangerous as I feel I am seated in an almost standing position when I am riding the bike. I have a theory that someone who rides bikes a lot (I have 3 already and do ride a lot) probably has more of a problem getting to grips with the A-Bike than someone who hasn't riden much for years. It's handling is quite unique and it is taking me time to adapt to.

If any experienced A-Bike owners have any tips on either riding position, or the best way to brake on long downhill runs I would be interested to hear from them. I would even be interested in dropping in to Mayhem with my bike to learn from the experts as I have got beyond the stage of "send it back it's just a gimmick". I'm sticking with the A-Bike, but would love to improve my riding technique.

Another passion of mine is the Smart Car (although my girlfriend has always refused to let me buy one) and Smart car owners have regular meets. Is there not a case for having an occasional get together in London for owners to exchange ideas and tips?? (Just a thought).
