I own a replica model of the bike with the solid wheels. It will take away any fear of flat tires but on some road surfaces it will be a rough ride. My bike has 415 km on it and the tires are holding up well. There some wear, the rear taking the bulk of the it. It would say that the air filled tires are a better way to go. Just make sure that you can get replacement tires and inner tubes. I would look at getting these spare parts at the same time you are getting the bike. In saying this, either model should be OK.

I would consider looking at paying the extra money on the newest A-bike City. With the money, you are getting a bike that has the supports in place in case things need fixing. The copy versions not have supports in place to back up any faults that can happen. I am not saying this just to promote the real version, it is just a fact that you get what you pay for. I have been lucky so far that my copy A-bike is running smooth. Once something major breaks on it that can not be fixed, I lack the support structutre that the real model has. The bike will be junk then. You have to weight out what is important for you in the end, a inexpensive copy or a fully supported original version. You have to make that call.

Whatever version you get, they are a fun bike to use. Best of luck in buying a model that works for you!

Thanks Stevbike for your truthful advice.

You think this ->

a possible 8" tube replacement? However, it is only max at 85 psi.

That does not look like it could be the proper tube. You should be getting the tires and tubes from the the on-line store that sells the parts for the original bike. Here is a link to the store, http://www.a-bike.co.uk/store/checkout_ ... f28656c282. The tires should a standard size and fit the rims of a copy version of the 8" wheeled A-bike if that is the way you are going. It is nice to have parts on hand to repair a flat tire and keep the bike going.

Hi, am new here to forum. I am confused with same, to use Solid wheels for my bike. Can someone throw some light. I tried to get thro aliexpress, but its so costly. I feel chinabuye is reasonable and i get good responses for their service. But my question is Solid wheels are best to go with..?

I think that the solid PU tires work fine. They should last a while. The air filled tires will have a better ride quality but the risk of flats is there. If you lack spare tubes or tires depending on what needs replacing, your bike is grounded. The ride is bumpy on some road surfaces with PU tires but it is not the end of the world. Enjoy whatever bike you get! Just read what I posted above. Buying the original A-bike will get you a better built, quality product with support. The copies versions do not.

I don't think it is a good idea to change the pneumatic tyres into solid tyres. :roll:

The inner tubes of my A-bike have lasted for 4 years and never have to be changed even the tread of the rear tyre is almost worn out. I think it is because I use a correct method to inflate the tyres: :mrgreen:

I looked up some articles in regards to the development of PU tires in the automotive sector.
