Worn out Free Wheel

Postby kenwshmt2 on Thu Jun 21, 2007 7:20 pm

I've ridden the bike too hard.

The pedals slip with a tooth rattling pop on anything but a gentle slope.

I think I will get another bike and keep this one for parts.

I could fix this bike, but Its developing other age related faults, and something else is probably due to fail soon as it is.

I've gotten 164 recorded miles from it, and I probably went 200 miles total on it.

This bike is an ebay copy, I hope the OEM have sturdier parts.

I'm not surprised a fake A-bike couldn't hold our speed king, kenwshmt2. You are like testing it's limit! (This is a compliment.)

So which one will you go for next? Real or Fake? moding and using a fake to its next level is one interesting thing, but getting a real one and compare the two is also nice. (since not many has both types.)

Having said that, whether real freewheel can take your speed or not is a kinda questionable haha. :)

My next one will be a real one.
While it'll be difficult to afford, and I cant get it for a month, having the next one fail in 2 1/2 months isnt worth the risk.

I have no interst in modding the next one, any changes will be by screw clamp and tie.

The speedometer is simple, the spare tire pump will still probably fit in the seat pipe, and I never really used the extending handlebar stand.
