Yes, it uses a tech named Cambering. I wish I knew more about it.

http://trikke.com/ they call it "carving".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trikke

there exists other such too.

http://www.toydirectory.com/monthly/ToyShow/product.asp?product_id=11949&company_id=2944

the EzyRoller moves like a snake, without chains or pedals, using easy right-left leg movements. There are no chains and no batteries — the EzyRoller moves and turns silently.

It offers the enjoyment of new locomotion possibilities that can't be experienced on any other bike or ride-on.

Invented by Denis living in New Zeeland. He makes it for kinds but it is adjustable so preteens and small adults could play with their children. Fun to see Dad making a fool of himself.

Wish somebody could write a review explaining if it is more demanding then to kickbike the same thing.

Take Trikke and compare it to Xootr kickbike. Let them do same say 100 yards and measure how much power the kicker or carver has to use to make it within a certain time.

I do a lot of Kickbiking in winter when there is icy streets cause going bik i have falling several times each winter so I have bought second hand versions of four wheel Kickbikes.

The Trikke has very high platforms but that is because it needs to carve.

When one do kickbike one want to be as close to the ground as possible.

Here is a popular new toy using same tech as Trikke.

http://www.ripstikusa.com/

They name it caster board.

Learning how to ride your RipStik® Caster Board takes a little time and is easier than you might think.

Just twist and go! The RipStik® Caster Board brings the carving thrill of surfing and snowboarding to dry land!

It's unique twisting motion moves you forward with out ever pushing off the ground!
The RipStik®'s 360 degree inclined casters and pivoting deck provide a unique carving motion.

Caster due to the wheels being caster wheels while the drive forward is due to carving or cambering

I've found that it is not a Trikke actually. It is called SLIDER The UNscooter.
They are similar in appearance but are totally different in structure and principle.

thanks that was very helpful. You where right and me wrong

The Trikke they used in some of the windows was a smaller version? It had no chance against teh Slider which seems more effective but less secure in usage. It easily went its own way if the rider was not aware of what was going on. I guess me would easily crash using one.

It most likely weight much less than my fourwheel Kickbikes. They are extremely heavy and not as fun but much much safer on ice and snow so my 4w for winter and the slider for summer fun.

But would not a Xootr be much more easy to use and less heavy too and same price? Ok Xootr maybe are overpriced.

Slider came in 4 different sizes? that is a good sign on them trying to cover all needs.

The problem for me is that neither my 4W or the Slider or any other such is allowed in our food stores or even on public transport cause they are seen as toys.

But my dream is to combine a legal accepted everywhere Rollator/rollingWalker and a kikbike addon that is hidden when it is used as a Rollator and unfolded when one need the kickbike function and then folded under when one enter the shop or Bus. That would make it legal and accepted.

any thoughts?

Maybe one can turn a Rollator backwards and thus make a fourwheel Slider out of it?

Or take a three wheel legal Rollator and redesign it to be a rollator seen from one side and a Slider from the other side?

I try to explain. A Rollator has the castor wheel in front. Two of them and two regular wheel in the back but look at Slider. It has the castor wheels back and the regular wheel in front and that one can be steered. so one only have to rearrange so the rollator have the castors back and steering in front. Voila, a fourwheel Slider that turns into a Rollator when needed?

Are you with me?

Nope, Mr Weakling. You are too optimistic about the Slider to Rollator transformer. :D

I take it all back. It is much more difficult than one think to make light transformers. they easily get heavy.
