Losing air.

Hi ...er... every one! Got my A-bike, love it, front tyre is losing air and am thinking of using Slime or similar puncture sealant gunk to keep the air in.
By the way, by far the best tool for inflating the fiddly valves on the A- is a mountain bike shock pump, around twenty quid.

I have used slime on a mountain bike before and it certainly worked very well at preventing punctures! It did slow me down a little, although that wouldn't matter with the A-Bike

Well mine had the problem straight out of the box! I cant imagine undertaking a puncture repair at the side of the road so I think slime is the answer.

Yes, the slime is a great idea! My one also came with a problem out of the box, which was that one of the buttons on the stem wouldn't pop out properly. On attempting to extract it with a pen as advised in the manual, I quickly lost it totally inside

Luckily I was able to get a quick replacement for the bike from Selfridges, as I didn't fancy dismantling it myself or waiting 28 days for a repair.

So I guess it's typical Sinclair style with a few "teething" problems. But lets hope it sells well, to encourage future development and also new ideas from other manufacturers!

Im almost too embarassed to mention it but it turned out to be a loose valve core and took a few seconds to fix with a Schrader valve key. Doh. My excuse is that all my other bikes have presta valves.

Have ordered a SELCOFF seatpost with integrated seat clamp for my 'A' in a 400mm length. Ill let you all know if it arrives/ fits/ works. Intend to use a Selle Italia SLR XP which has been knocking around in the shed waiting for a bike for years. Hopefully this upgrade wont add more than a few grams.

My pet hate about the bike is the Alen key headed bolts used extensively to hold it together. Why didnt they spec dome headed bolts? I catch my troos on them regularly and am having thoughts already about changing them and other bits to Titanium fasteners.

Good honest review in Velovision magazine this issue. I agree with the conclusion that the 'A' is more suitable in stock form for smaller riders. Am awaiting delivery of my long seatpost with eager anticipation....
