Will any Shock pump do....?

I've had enough trying to blow the tyres up on my a-bike using a conventional pump. I loose more air then I put in most of the time. Anyway can anyone tell me the difference between a "normal" shock pump and the official "a-bike" pump, as I really need to get one ASAP.
